They are designed to fail in such a way that the coolant pump will have power in most cases. They are also designed to be as flexible as possible, with fully adjustable temperature set points, pump pulse timing and after-run duration. There are two variations, one for controlling the entire cooling system (pump, fan, overheat and after-run) and one for controlling just the pump alone.
